Every morning when you wake up and start the new day by opening your eyes you are blessed with an opportunity.
As you rise, plant your feet firmly on the floor, clear the cobwebs and come into your state of awakened consciousness, you find yourself confronted with a choice.
Will this be a good day or a miserable one?
You are actually blessed with the innate ability to choose for yourself which course of action you ultimately take.
With the break of dawn comes decision. Your mindset will determine whether or not you jump for joy. Will you embrace the endless possibilities of enlightened experiences that await you? Or will you refuse that path?
You may feel defeated and uninspired. This mentality will lead you to opt for what is behind door #2. Schlumpadink your way to work, begrudge every step you take and all those who have a smile on their face.
Oh yeah…that sounds like a fabulous option. Not so much! Yet surprisingly that is exactly the journey that many sign up for. That negativity train stays packed on a constant basis. Never any seats available. Standing room only for those passengers who are content to chug along on the route to ruin.
If you personally choose to prescribe yourself a cocktail of doledrum, that is entirely on you. No judgment for I am a firm believer in free choice and all that it entails.
But, I can promise you that you will not see me at that train station depot. When I am gifted with my daily dose of, “Decide for myself which platform to stand on,” well…I am going to be the first in line to board the positivity train. TOOT TOOT! That is my railroad of choice. The speeding Amtrak to happiness.
I prefer this locomotive. No delays, no detours. You simply jump on this speeding bullet to success. I feel assured that wherever this fast-track takes me will be full of exciting opportunities. I look forward with great eagerness to every new person I may encounter. I may learn something from my fellow traveler or I may help them in some way, form or fashion. It makes no difference. It’s all good either way. I just know I’m better for having the connection with a like-minded soul and I hope they feel the same.
It truly is about the journey and not necessarily the destination. I am completely open to where this train takes me. Full steam ahead. I am absolutely sure that wherever it leads to is a much more uplifting and productive choice than its alternative counterpart.
For me, my philosophy is that there is plenty of time to be depressed when you’re dead.
